There's so many stories about disposal of Personal computers and Laptops around today, only a few nights ago I was watching a programme on the BBC about identity fraud, where people were disposing of their computers to land fill, only to find out months down the line that their identities were being compromised by people removing their hard drives and getting at their details.

I have myself bought laptops off of EBAY and found data, pictures and files have been left on them, if I was the kind of person to want to steal their identities I could, but in the cold light of day that's not my way. So I came up with this concept of collecting old computers and recycling them, shipping them to the needy in the UK and abroad (via Charities) after competely wiping the hard drive and fitting new parts to them.

This is the only way to ensure data security and breath new life into a PC or laptop, for a very modest fee you can be assured of cleaning up the hard drive to Government and Miltiary standards, then I can do the necessary work to pass them on free to the people who cannot afford to buy a unit, we only take base units, LCD displays and laptops, we then install new power supplies, internet connections, keyboards and mice.

Another common myth is that if you re-install the operating system (Windows) then it will over write your old data, well it doesn't, some of the old data still remains on the hard drive. We destroy all evidence of the original setup and data. All hard drives with less than 30gb are wiped and destroyed, hard drives with a capacity of more than 30gb are wiped using a bespoke program, we then supply an operating system plus the parts mentioned above and move them on to the needy.

Mobile Phones

We now also offer a mobile phone recycling service at a cost of £2.50 all you need to do is to send your Mobile phone (paying the shipping cost to our depot) along with its charger and we will remove data/contacts/phone lists, etc fit it with a new Sim card* and case and send it on to a registered charity, complete and ready to use. (* Only if charity requests the Sim Card to be fitted).

Digital Camera's

A further service has now been added the recycling of digital camera's as some of the older ones are now over 10 years old, we basically set the unit back to factory setting, clean the memory card with our software and test, again the cost is £2.50, these are then shipped onto charities.

Please be aware that no attempts will be made to recover data from any hard drive or phone recycled by us, our business is the “safe” recycling of computers/Mobile Phone to supply to Charities or environmentally safe disposal of Computers/Mobile Phones. We have recycled over 250 Laptops and computers in the last 3 years and have currently reconditioned over 100 mobile phones that have been passed on to various Charities.
